In today’s mass of humanity and technology, people are often uncomfortable with silence, space and who they are.
To fill their gaping need to feel “ok” and “good enough,” they sacrifice safety and silence for stuff, addictions and distractions. They may fill their ears with podcasts, audiobooks or incessant thoughts. They may fill their homes with things they don’t need, their storage units with things they don’t remember and their mouths with destructive food, drug, habits and words that kill peace, hope and love.
In a society that prioritizes doing over being, you may push, prod and strive your way to a version of success that denies your real self. You’ll know if this is you, because you can’t sit still. You have to be doing something in order to feel useful, meaningful, worthy. You feel uncomfortable in silence and stillness. You may also feel ill-at-ease overall, trapped, stuck, anxious, and maybe even afraid. But there is nothing more to do, to make you worthy. All of life, including you, is worthy to be, regardless how much it does. Like flowers, we simply live, grow towards the sun, take in the nutrients of life, and be beauty-full from the inside out. Then, even the honey bees are drawn to us.
Learn to be. With me. At the Heron’s Nest.
