Heron’s Nest Retreat #9
Codependency is an addiction to taking care of others at the expense of our own health physically, mentally, emotionally and/or spiritually. It’s a sneaky addiction, because you may look like an amazingly productive and successful person on the outside.
Over time, codependency causes everything within us to break down. Various health problems arise, which doctors can’t seem to properly diagnose or fix. Brain fog, scattered thinking, adrenaline rushes, adrenal fatigue, thyroid problems and auto-immune disorders aren’t far behind. Addictions like food, sex, drugs, work, gambling, porn, romance novels, shopping and binge watching whatever take the place of real relationships with ourself, others and life. Because life as it is, is too hard, and disconnecting, distracting or numbing out seems easier.
This can’t last forever. Eventually, we will get sick enough to be miserable and die, or one or the other.
Don’t wait that long.
I can say first-hand, that from my experience as a codependent to narcissists, sociopaths, and depressed people, that healing and health is possible. Let me show you how during this healing stay, designed specifically for codependents.
